Yoga As A Part of Therapy

Yoga plays a huge role in my therapy and my own personal journey. As a Yoga teacher, it has been instrumental in helping me understand the philosophy behind it and how I can implement this into my life and my clients’ lives.

Gentle Yoga and Peace

These classes are an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and simply be. In the stillness, you give yourself time to put everything else aside—no expectations, no rush—just space to feel, to breathe, and to listen.

How does yoga help balance the nervous system?

Yoga activates the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) (rest & relax) and reduces sympathetic overactivity (fight or flight) through breathwork, gentle movement, vagus nerve activation, meditation, and balancing poses. Techniques like Nadi Shodhana, Bhramari, Child’s Pose, and Yoga Nidra help release tension, lower cortisol, and promote deep relaxation, restoring nervous system balance.

How long does it take to see stress relief benefits from yoga?

Many people feel immediate relaxation after a session, but consistent practice for 2–4 weeks can significantly reduce stress levels. Regularity is key!

Do I need to have experience with Yoga to join your classes?

Not at all. My classes are accessible to everyone, whether you are completely new to Yoga or have experience. The movements are gentle, and I guide you through each step, ensuring that it feels safe and effective for you.

Can Yoga really help with headaches and pain?

Yes! Specific Yoga practices, especially Yin Yoga, can help release tension in the neck, shoulders, and jaw, regulate the nervous system, and support pain management. I offer special Yoga classes designed for people with headaches, where we focus on deep relaxation, breathwork, and gentle movements that promote relief.

Can yoga improve sleep quality and reduce insomnia?

Yes! Yoga, especially gentle styles like Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Yoga Nidra, helps calm the nervous system, reduce cortisol levels, and promote relaxation, leading to better sleep.
